For eight days – from 9 to 17 September – 50 ICG consultants immersed in the 3 Chinese mega cities of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. In doing so, we got exciting impulses about current developments and innovations in China and could better understand the mood and culture that will make China the leading economic nation in the next few years. We would also like to share this experience with you via our blogs.

Our exploratory list included visits to Alibaba and Tencent – 2 of China’s top 3 companies. At the global market leader Haier (global leader in self-organization) and events with the Chinese „Agility Community“, we learned more about agile trends in China. At Geely, NIO, BYD and Byton, we could get insights into the developments of the Chinese automotive industry. And of course we were particularly interested in entrepreneurship in China. Accelerator visits, meetings with Chinese technology start-ups, and an event with leading entrepreneurship expert Edward Tse were also on the agenda. We also spent 3 days of our learning journey in Shenzhen – a region that is in the process of overhauling Silicon Valley (the destination of our recent US learning journey in 2016). Other important fields of our learning journey were trends in the fields of robotics, AI, health innovation, city development and education.
